Glass plate scanning

Max is highly experienced in the digitisation of large glass plate collections. In fact, we have had the privilege of working on unique glass photographic plates produced by photographers such as Herbert Ponting, Noel Odell and Ernest Shackleton.

Glass plate scanning presents particular and unique challenges in respect of both handling and image capture. Our experience over the years of capturing tens of thousands of lantern slides and glass plates has given us unparalleled knowledge and expertise in this area.

Some of the clients for whom we have undertaken large-scale glass plate digitisation projects include:

Royal Geographical Society
Bexley Heritage Trust
Courtauld Institute
National Maritime Museum
Manx Heritage Centre
