Photographic scanning

Max was launched as a company which provided photographic scanning services back in 1998. It remains one of our cornerstone services.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the images we are consistently able to obtain, regularly over thousands of photographs. The digitised images often make their way into leading publications and exhibitions.

Scanning photographic material for publication and archival purposes requires care and precision. It is essential that the full tonal range of the image is captured and not lost during the digitisation process. To preserve the optimum level of colour and detail on each image, we use the latest equipment and have a fully colour-managed production workflow.

As part of our service range we can also convert negatives into digital photos where necessary.

Some of the clients for whom we have provided this service include:

Tate Gallery
BBC
Victoria & Albert Museum
Imperial War Museum
Royal Opera House
King's College London
Courtauld Institute
Royal Horticultural Society
Wallace Collection
Royal Collection
REME
